Chunky Blue Bracelet

I love these beads. They're large, intensely blue and with the dreamy swirls inside, each reminds me of an overly blue planet earth.

I made this very basic bracelet initially with the intention of dismantling it thereafter but somehow, I've been procrastinating.

I think I'm just very taken by the whole chunky blueness, of having a string of big blue 'marbles' wrapped around the wrist.

Try your hand at making your own bracelet. Sites like Craftsy, Creativelive and Creativebug are a great resource. For jewellery making books, check good bookstores like Amazon, Book Depository, Wordery or Alibris and Abebooks for secondhand books. I got my beads on eBay.

Colour Blocking On Nails

Colour blocking may be in but mixing chunks of colours like yellow with orange and green is not my thing, not with nails and certainly not with clothes.

I'm not only doing it small - with nails - but I'm also doing it with very safe colours: grey, red, white and black. It's very conservative, for sure, but what's important is that it is something that won't make me cringe when I look back at this years from now.

Framed Pendant

This old necklace came from the same fashion accessories shop (now defunct) as where I got the pink crystal flower ring.

The pendant in its current scratched state is like an old framed picture of an ellipse, an oval and a teardrop in the company of three little pale pink crystals. It is such an incongruous party but, well, I think it works.
