Scrollwork Ring

I got this ring from London, in Camden Market, about eleven years ago. It's funny that I bought it at a time when I never wore rings! I just knew I had to have it though.

Because of the V-shape, I can wear it two ways: with the V pointing towards my fingertips.....

or alternatively, pointing away from my fingertips. I tend to wear it this second way.

The ring is set with a little black rhinestone (I don't remember now if I had asked, but I doubt it is black onyx). Whenever I see this ring, I think of wrought iron fencing with scrollwork. It's made of oxidised silver but some of the clear lacquer coating has come off over the years. As a result, it has turned lighter and blotchy, looking appropriately aged. Quite vintage.

Opening My Armoire

When I was little, no more than five years old, my parents bought me a new pair of shoes. I loved them so much that, that night, I slept with them at my bedside. That way, I would wake up in the morning and those brand new shoes would be one of the first things I would see.

Life was so simple then. Sometimes, I fool myself into thinking that it still is. I still relish the rush I get whenever I buy myself a new pair of shoes. Most ladies would understand the feeling, I'm sure.

However, don't be misled. This website isn't a projection of one's shoe obsession (I exercise self-restraint, really I do!). What follows here are happy things that I like to wear and all other kinds of things that make me smile. Simple.
